Signature collection for the recall of Senator Dino Melaiye reportedly took place last night.
The unexpected happened last night at about 9: pm, according to our confirmed source who confided on our correspondence in kogi last night. Disclosed that, the collection of signatures went successfully at the ANSARU ISLAM PRIMARY SCHOOL New layout Lokoja. He further stressed that, each of the signatories were paid five-hundred naira (N500) per-signature. In addition, that their original permanent voters card (PVC) is being photocopied along with their details.
Further investigation by conscience radio unveiled that, some well known PDP and APC members in the ward level are sighted in the money distribution.
Recently, hundreds of constituent’s members from Kogi West Senatorial district protested to the headquarters of the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lokoja demanding for the immediate recall of the well out spoken Senator Dino Melaiye, who represents the district at the national Assembly.
According to the constituents spoke person, Pius Kolawole, the local government areas initiating the recall process include Yagba West, Yagba East, Mopamuro, Ihanya, Kabba,Bunu,Koton-Karfe and Lokoja.
While the State INEC legal adviser, Mr. Muktar Bawa ask them to go back and get the endorsement of constituent in the district and follow the normal process in presenting their petition.
But effort to speak with Pius Kolawole as at the time of filing this report proved abortive, more details shortly as events unfold……………
