Manchester United are set to complete a deal to sign Radja Nainggolan from Roma this summer, says Janusz Michallik
Manchester United will complete a deal to sign Radja Nainggolan from Roma this summer, according to pundit Janusz Michallik.
The Red Devils are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they prepare for their second season under Jose Mourinho.
Despite all of the speculation, however, Manchester United have so far only completed a deal to sign defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
Roma midfielder Nainggolan has been touted as a possible target for the Red Devils as they prepare for a return to the Champions League next season.
And ESPN FC pundit Michallik feels that the 29-year-old midfielder will be on his way to Old Trafford, with Mourinho said to be a long-term admirer of the Belgium international.
Michallik told ESPN FC: “I can understand why Jose Mourinho’s been after him for a long, long time now. I don’t know if it’s going to happen, it’s a funny one.
“He’s very much like Vidal, you and I joke that if Jose Mourinho had a chance to get (Arturo) Vidal, Nainggolan and (N’Golo) Kante, that would be the midfield and he would make that midfield happen somehow.
“I think that should be a priority over anything there, I think he would help Paul Pogba tremendously as well.
“So for me this is a hit and it should happen – and I somehow think it will happen.”
Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League last season but secured a return to the Champions League by winning the Europa League title in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge.
The Red Devils also won the EFL Cup in Mourinho’s first season at Old Trafford.
