Jose Mourinho has ruled out the possibility of Manchester United re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports
Jose Mourinho has ruled out the possibility of Manchester United re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Star is reporting that Mourinho has “slammed the door shut” on the possibility of the 32-year-old Real Madrid star returning to Old Trafford this summer.
The same report claims that Mourinho feels that Ronaldo is simply angling for an improved contract at Real Madrid and will stay in Spain beyond this summer.
Ronaldo has been heavily linked with a transfer away from Real Madrid in recent days after the 32-year-old was accused of avoiding tax by Spanish authorities.
However, the player himself has not spoken out about his situation and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez said on Monday that the Spanish club had not received any offers for Ronaldo or any of their other stars.
Manchester United sold Ronaldo to Real Madrid in a then-world record transfer deal back in 2009 and the Portugal star has gone on to establish himself as one of the greatest players in history.
